The 2027 Kia Carnival SX Handles Automatic Highway Lane Changes With New HDA 2

The 2027 Kia Carnival SX Handles Automatic Highway Lane Changes With New HDA 2

The 2027 Kia Carnival SX is the eight-passenger top trim in the Carnival’s ICE lineup, and for Ontario families who spend real time on highways, it will arrive with one standout addition: Highway Driving Assist 2. HDA 2 is new to the Carnival for 2027 and lands as standard equipment on the SX, giving drivers hands-on automated steering and speed management on divided highways. That addition alone separates the SX from every trim below it.

Beyond HDA 2, the SX pairs a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, adds an 11-inch head-up display, Surround View Monitor, Blind-Spot View Monitor, and a Bose premium audio system. With seating for eight and up to 4,110 L of maximum cargo volume, the SX covers both the technology side and the practical family side without asking you to step up to the SX+’s captain’s chair layout.

What the 2027 Carnival SX Includes

The SX sits as the top eight-passenger trim in the 2027 Carnival lineup. It builds on the EX+ with a full technology package aimed at highway confidence and in-cabin awareness.

Key SX features: - Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2): Standard on SX, new for 2027; maintains lane position and following distance on divided highways - 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation - 11-inch head-up display projecting speed and navigation cues onto the windshield - Surround View Monitor and Blind-Spot View Monitor for low-speed manoeuvring and lane changes - Bose premium audio system - Digital Key 2.0 - Eight-passenger seating with removable second-row seats - 19-inch alloy wheels on 235/55R19 tyres - FWD with towing capacity up to 3,500 lbs (1,588 kg) - Maximum cargo volume of 4,110 L

The SX will be offered with the 3.5L V6 paired to an 8-speed automatic, or as the SX HEV, which pairs a 1.6L turbocharged I4 with a 72 hp electric motor and 6-speed automatic. The SX HEV also adds shift-by-wire and Remote Smart Parking Assist.

The 2027 Carnival SX Is the Right Call for Highway Family Driving

For Ontario families who need eight seats, full driver-assist capability, and a cabin that can hold 4,110 L of gear, the 2027 Carnival SX is the trim to choose. HDA 2 addresses the real demands of long highway travel, the dual 12.3-inch screens keep navigation and vehicle data clear at a glance, and the Bose audio system makes the cabin worth spending time in.

If second-row comfort is the top priority over third-row capacity, the SX+ trades the bench for VIP captain’s chairs and drops to seven passengers. For eight-passenger families who prioritize technology and cargo versatility, the SX is the stronger fit.
