Highway Driving Assist 2 joins the Carnival for 2027, and it is standard only on the SX and SX+. On divided highways the system keeps the van positioned in its lane and holds a set following distance, managing steering, acceleration and braking while the driver keeps hands on the wheel. Below the SX, the LX, LX+, EX and EX+ go without it, and they also skip the 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, the 11-inch head-up display, Surround View Monitor, Blind-Spot View Monitor and Bose premium audio that the SX includes as standard.
The SX keeps eight seats with a removable second-row bench and offers 4,110 L of maximum cargo volume on 19-inch alloy wheels with 235/55R19 tires. It tows up to 3,500 lb (1,588 kg) and drives the front wheels. Buyers pick the 3.5L V6 with an 8-speed automatic, or the SX HEV, which combines a 1.6L turbocharged four-cylinder with a 72 hp electric motor and a 6-speed automatic and adds shift-by-wire plus Remote Smart Parking Assist. The SX+ carries the same technology with VIP captain’s chairs and seven seats.
- Book a test drive that includes a stretch of Highway 404 or 407 so you can feel HDA 2 manage lane position and following distance in real traffic.
- Compare the SX with the EX+ feature by feature, since the jump between them is where the digital cluster, head-up display, camera systems and Bose audio all appear.
- Decide whether your household needs eight seats with a removable bench (SX) or seven seats with VIP captain’s chairs (SX+).
- Choose between the V6 and the SX HEV based on your commute, remembering the hybrid also brings shift-by-wire and Remote Smart Parking Assist.
- Ask Plaza Kia to walk you through Digital Key 2.0 setup on your phone before delivery.
Driver assistance is the widest gap in the 2027 Carnival trim ladder. For families logging highway kilometres across York Region and the GTA, the SX is the first trim to bundle the full monitoring and assist suite.
